Goals and why

What you will learn

  • turn on the route panel and create a route
  • drag orders onto the route and set the order of the stops
  • send the route to the driver without sending too early
  • create regular routes with Recurring routes

Sometimes several orders in the same area are really one trip. You then gather them in a route. The route has the stops in order. The driver gets the whole trip together, instead of ten separate orders in no particular order.

You decide the order yourself, or let the system work it out. Be careful once the route has a driver. Orders you drop on the route after that go straight out to the driver. If you want to check the route first, finish it before you choose the resource.

Key terms

Route panelThe column with the day's routes next to the order list. Turned on with "Display Routes" under the gear.
Route cardOne card per route with start time, driving time, distance, number of stops and resource.
Optimize RouteLets the system work out the order of the stops based on driving time, time windows and load.
Auto optimizeThe option in the route form that optimises the route every time an order is dropped on it.
Recurring routesRoute templates under Settings. They create the actual routes for a date you choose.

  • Requires module 18 (Routes). Without it, neither "Display Routes" nor Recurring routes appears in the menu.
  • Common support case: "the order went straight to the driver". The route already had a resource when the order was dropped on it.
  • The orders on the route are sent through the method chosen in "Communication method" in the route form.
