Goals and why

What you will learn

  • which steps the hours go through, from the working day to payroll
  • the two ways to deliver time: punching and daily report
  • how the dashboard and the menu show you what is waiting
  • why errors must be fixed before the payroll export

How to get there

  1. Click the calendar icon at the top right of Frakt24. The time module opens.
  2. You land on the Dashboard, the start page of the time module.
  3. If you don't see the icon, you are missing access or the module. Ask your administrator.

The time module is the part of Frakt24 where the employees' working time is collected, checked and sent to payroll. The employee delivers the time in one of two ways. With punching, the employee taps in and out in the FleetX app during the day. With a daily report, the employee enters the working day afterwards. The tachograph is not a third way. For employees who only punch, it fills in the activities of a day that has been punched.

The rules then calculate normal time, overtime, surcharges and flexitime. You check and approve the time, and every hour gets an hour type, a code the payroll system recognises. Finally the period is exported to payroll, and the days are locked. An error that slips through can then no longer be fixed in the time module.

Key terms

PunchingRegistering the time while you work. The employee taps in and out in the FleetX app and switches activity along the way, for example from driving to break.
Daily reportThe working day entered afterwards: when you worked, what you did and any per-diem claims. A daily report always waits for approval.
Calculated hoursThe time as the rules calculate it for payroll: normal time, overtime, surcharges and flexitime.
Hour TypeThe code every hour gets. The payroll system recognises the code in the export and then knows what to pay the hour as.
ViolationsA case the system opens when a rule for working time, driving time or rest has not been followed.
Payroll periodThe stretch of time that is approved and sent to payroll as a whole. It is set up under Attendance Settings → Payroll.

All correct completes the lesson
Answer all correctly to complete the lesson You see which answers are wrong, and you can try as many times as you like. This lesson counts towards the level 1 badge in Time and payroll: 0 of 3 complete.
1. A driver sends a daily report for yesterday. What happens to it?

2. The managing director asks how many critical violations are open now. Where do you find the answer fastest?

3. A new driver asks if he can skip punching, since the truck has a tachograph. What do you answer?

4. When is the best time to correct an error in an employee's hours?

5. The payroll manager asks how the payroll system knows that an hour is overtime. What do you answer?

6. A driver has had leave approved for Friday. How does Friday get into the payroll?

7. The Pending Leave Requests card on the dashboard is empty. What does that mean?

You are not signed in, so the result is not saved.

Trainer notesOnly shown when trainer mode is on
  • Requires the Timesheet module (module 43) and a user in the time module. The daily report queue also requires the Daily Report module (module 65).
  • The side menu is confusing: Overview under Attendance is the per-employee view, Summary is the team table. Navigate by content, not by label.
  • Automatic approval of punches only applies to selected users or roles. The switch is currently hidden in Attendance Settings and is set in the setup wizard. It only approves the registration itself. The day's hours must still be approved with Approve before the period can be approved.
