The contract and the transport orders
Learn to work in the rental contract and create the transport orders that deliver, collect and empty the objects.
Goals and why
What you will learn
- what you find in the contract and on each booking
- read the colours that show whether an object is delivered out or returned
- create a delivery, collection or emptying order from the booking
- why the object stays out without a collection order
The rental contract is like a folder for one agreement. It holds the customer, the objects with their own barcode, period and price, and the payment terms. One contract can cover several places, for example bins at three building sites.
The actual driving happens with the transport orders. From the booking you create Rental Deliver (out to the customer), Rental Collect (back home) or Rental Empty (emptying where the object stands). The orders are built from the order template and land with the dispatcher like any other order. The most common slip is thinking the contract or the booking collects the object. Only a collection order does. When it is completed, the object is set as returned and the booking ends.

Show me
You see contract #9 with two wheelie bins, one of the bookings and the wizard for a new collection order, and nothing is saved. Click a part of the image to see what it is used for.

All correct completes the lesson- Common support case: "the bin is still at the customer". Check whether the booking has a Rental Collect order. Set to finished on the contract and SET AS FINISHED on the booking only appear once the object has been returned.
- Delivered out and returned are set automatically when the rental order is completed, both from FleetX and in the TMS (RentalBookingDeliveryService::syncFromCompletedOrder).
- Good demo point: open New order from a delivered booking and show that Rental Deliver is greyed out, while Collect and Empty are open.
