Rentals: the overview and your first contract
Learn to find your way around Rentals and book your first rental contract for a customer.
Goals and why
What you will learn
- what the three rental tabs are used for
- read the numbers and lists on the dashboard
- book a rental contract with customer, asset group, period and price
- why you must create the delivery order yourself after the booking
How to get there
- Click the Rentals button with the boxes at the top right.
- You can also click Settings in the top menu and choose Rentals under Rental.
- Click New Rental to create a new contract.
- If you don't see the button or the menu item, you are missing access or the module. Ask your administrator.
In Rentals you rent your own things out to customers for a period, for example a container, a wheelie bin or a machine. We call these things rental objects, or just objects. Frakt24 keeps track of where each object is, how far the rent has been invoiced, and the transport orders that take the object out and back again.
Two mistakes are easy to make. The first is thinking the booking sends the object out. It doesn't, so you create the delivery order afterwards. The second is an empty To date, which is the end date. The contract then becomes open-ended and keeps invoicing until someone ends it. That is right for an ongoing rental, but costly if it was a slip.

All correct completes the lesson- Rentals requires module 40, and the department must be switched on under Client settings, the Rentals tab. If either is missing, neither the menu item nor the top bar button is shown.
- Today's Income is an estimate of the daily value of the bookings that have started and haven't been returned (weekly, monthly and quarterly prices converted to a day, including objects not yet delivered), not what was invoiced today. The help article says "Rent invoiced today", so expect questions.
- Good demo point: open the dashboard, click Pending Deliveries and show that a booking without a transport order is marked "No Driving Order".
