Goals and why

What you will learn

  • set the weighing rules: minimum charge, weight rounding and how long a stored tare weight is valid
  • map the settlement methods to payment methods
  • register scales and receiving facilities
  • fetch the fractions from NS 9431, and where the prices per kg are set

The settings decide how each weighing session becomes an order. The registers give the operator the choices in daily work: the scales at weigh-in, the receiving facilities in outbound transport and settlement, and the fractions in the weighing session.

Prices per kg are not set here. They live on each fraction's price list, with customer prices for customers with agreements. The scale then uses the same pricing logic as the rest of the system. Without the mapping to payment methods, orders from the scale don't get the right payment method, so set it before the first session.

Key terms

Minimum chargeThe lowest amount an inbound delivery can cost. If the fraction sum is lower, the difference is added as a separate line on the order.
Weight rounding (kg)The interval the weight in and weight out are rounded to. 0 disables rounding.
Tare re-verification (days)How old a stored tare weight can be before the vehicle must be weighed out again.
Payment methodsThe mapping from Cash, Card, Vipps and Invoice to the order system's payment methods.
Settlement customerThe receiving facility's customer card. Prices for outbound transport are taken from it, and the settlement applies to this customer.
NS 9431The Norwegian standard for classifying waste. The fractions are fetched ready-made with code and name from the catalogue.

  • The NS 9431 catalogue is only shown for Norwegian clients. If the station has no fractions, the catalogue opens automatically the first time the settings are opened.
  • The fractions are reporting activities in a category flagged as waste. New fractions get the unit kg. The catalogue is meant to grey out existing codes and pre-tick the most common ones, but currently doesn't (reported as a bug).
  • Scales and receiving facilities can only be deactivated, not deleted. The test tenant has the scale "AKADEMI TEST Vekt 1", created for this lesson.
