Goals and why

What you will learn

The tachograph is not a way of registering time on its own. The system fetches data from the vehicles at regular intervals. For drivers who only punch, driving, work and rest are placed inside the punches. That means employees whose employee type has Daily report mode set to Punch in/out only, and employees with no employee type. The punch is the frame for the day, and the tachograph fills in what happened. Without punching there is no day to fill in.

If the employee type is set to Daily report only or Both, the tachograph does not fill in the day. The data is then used for suggestions in the app and for checking.

Never approve a driving day where the hours and the tachograph disagree without knowing why. Otherwise a forgotten punch-out or an unregistered break can become pay.

  • Requires the Tachograph module (module 52) and «Enable tachograph integration» switched on under Attendance Settings → Tachograph. The «Tacho vs app» page then appears under Attendance, with match and deviation per day and a button to create an entry from the tachograph (comment required).
  • Tachograph data is synced every 15 minutes and placed into the attendances every 10 minutes, only for employees whose employee type is punching only, or who have no employee type. Rest shorter than 15 minutes counts as work. Locked and exported days are left alone.
  • For drivers on daily reports the tachograph data is used for suggested periods in the app, not to fill in the day.
