Learn to plan the day in the resource calendar, and to send the orders to the drivers when the plan is ready.

Goals and why

What you will learn

  • drag an order from the stack onto a driver and a time
  • read the colours of the blocks in the calendar
  • what the difference is between a planned and an assigned order
  • send the orders to the drivers with the paper plane

The resource calendar is a board where you lay out the day before anything goes to the drivers. When you drag an order into the calendar, it becomes planned. It gets a driver and a time, but the driver sees nothing in the FleetX app yet. The order becomes assigned only when you send it.

While the order is only planned, you can move it and swap drivers as much as you like. If you mix up planned and assigned, you may think the driver has the job when it is only in the plan. If you send too early, you have to withdraw the order before it can change driver.

Key terms

Order stackThe column of orders waiting for a place in the plan. The "In period" and "Not planned" filters decide what it shows.
Planned orderPlanned on a driver and a time, but not sent. The block is grey with a dashed border.
Assigned, pending / Assigned / Assigned, rejectedSent to the driver: yellow is waiting for an answer, green is accepted and red is rejected.
Paper planeThe button next to the driver's name that sends that driver's planned orders in the view.
Assign all planned in viewSends every planned order in the view at once.

Trainer notesOnly shown when trainer mode is on
  • Requires module 4 (Planning). Without it, the calendar button is not shown on the dispatch screen.
  • Common support case: "the driver didn't get the order" after it was dragged into the calendar. Planned is not sent. Show the paper plane and "Assign all planned in view".
  • Undo (Ctrl+Z) covers moves and time changes inside the calendar. The first drop from the stack and a block dragged back to the stack can't be undone.
