Get to know the dispatch screen

Learn to read the dispatch screen: the driver cards, the driver panel and the list of waiting orders.

Goals and why

What you will learn

  • which parts the dispatch screen has, and what they are for
  • read the colours and numbers on the driver cards
  • open the driver panel and find your way around its tabs
  • read an order card: order number, time window and stops

How to get there

  1. Click Dispatch in the top menu. The dispatch screen opens.
  2. To open the driver panel, click a driver card in the left column.

The dispatch screen (Dispatch) is where the orders meet the drivers who will drive them. From here you send jobs and catch problems before the customer notices.

You don't need to know everything on day one. Learn the status colours first. They quickly show you who can take the next job.

Key terms

Driver cardOne card per resource in the left column. The colour shows the status, and the number shows how many stops are left.
Driver panelThe panel that opens when you click a driver card. It has the tabs Orders, Status, Routes, Msg, Info and Time.
All unassigned ordersThe «All unassigned orders» tab. It is your inbox: every order here is waiting for a driver.
StopA place the driver has to visit: a pickup, a delivery or a task at one address. An order has one or more stops.

Here you see the driver cards and an order card from the TMS, with the same colours as everywhere in the system. Click a part of the image to see what it means.

5 (2) means 5 stops left on accepted orders, and 2 on orders the driver has not accepted yet.

One click on an order row shows a preview in the side panel. Double-click opens the order for editing. Under the gear icon you choose columns and turn on the map and route panel.

  • Common support case: "the driver didn't get the order". Check whether the card was red when the order was sent, and which communication channel the resource has.
  • The Routes and Time tabs only show when modules 18 and 43 are enabled. Say so up front if the customer doesn't have them.
